Director Ang Lee wants to shoot the movie in 3D.

11 Dec - After postponing his boxing drama to work on "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk", it was revealed that Ang Lee has restarted the project at Jeff Robinov's Studio 8.

As reported on Mingpao News, the Oscar-winning director reportedly has already cast actors to play the role of the two famed boxers involved in Thrilla in Manila – the famous boxing event where the plot of the movie is set in.

It was also rumoured that British actor David Oyelowo ("Selma", "Spooks") is set to play the role of Joe Frazier, while stage actor Ray Fisher will play Muhammad Ali.

Ang Lee is currently scouting locations for the movie. The director still plans to shoot the upcoming boxing movie in 3D.

The filming as well as the release dates have yet to be announced.
