"Baywatch" has found its Summer

Alexandra Daddario to star as Summer in "Baywatch".

19 Nov – Looks like Dwayne Johnson will be reteaming with his "San Andreas" co-star, Alexandra Daddario, in the upcoming movie adaptation of "Baywatch".

Johnson announced the news on his Instagram, posting a photo of them together along with a long caption welcoming Daddario to the cast.

"IT'S OFFICIAL: Want to welcome the talented and gorgeous @alexannadaddario to the cast of #BAYWATCH for the role of "Summer"," the actor posted.

"Alex is a one of kind woman (I know from experience) and can't wait for you guys to see her own the role."

Currently, the confirmed cast for the movie consists of Johnson, Daddario and Zac Efron ("Bad Neighbours", "We Are Your Friends"). Daddrio's Summer will be the love interest of Efron's aerobicized life saver character.

Johnson also wrote, "The female roles of #BAYWATCH have become extremely hot properties around Hollywood and as promised, the quality women we'll cast are stepping into these roles to have fun and make them iconic for the world to enjoy."

Part of Johnson's post also included news of more casting announcements soon, even teasing fans with "And juuuuust wait til you guys see who we cast for the iconic role of "CJ Parker"...." – the role was famously played by Pamela Anderson in the original TV series.

Johnson and Daddario previously played father-daughter combo in disaster movie, "San Andreas". Daddario is well-known for her role as Annabeth Chase in the "Percy Jackson" movie series and was also recently seen in Jo Dante's "Burying the Ex".

There is no release date set for "Baywatch" yet, but Daddario is expected to be seen running in slow motion on the big screen sometime in 2016 or 2017.
