French Film Festival 2015 kicks off in Klang Valley


"La belle et la bête" was the opening film for this year's festival.

15 May – French Art & Film Festival 2015 was recently launched at GSC Pavilion KL with a screening of the award winning 2014 film "La belle et la bête".

The event was attended by the likes of GSC's CEO Ms. Koh Mei Lee, President of Alliance Francaise Kuala Lumpur Y.A.M. Tengku Zatashah binti Sultan Idris Shah, French Embassy cultural counsellor Jean-Pierre Galland and more.

The festival celebrates not only film but also visual art, food, dance and music. Some of the highlights are dance group Pierre Regal, DVJ Oof, accomplished pianist Céliméne Daudet, French Market as well as cognac and champagne tastings with Martell.

This year's film selection is made up of mostly comedy movies, with some history and fantasy dramas thrown into the mix.

Some of the movies will only have limited screenings, however, which include "La belle et la bête" (Beauty and the Beast), "De toutes nos forces" ("The Finishers"), "Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu?" ("Serial (Bad) Weddings"), "Océans" and "Amazonia".

From 14 to 31 May, the film fest will screen the 15 selected French films at GSC Mid Valley, GSC Pavilion KL and GSC 1 Utama. From 4 to 14 June, the film fest will move on to GSC Gurney Plaza, Penang.
