Jackie Chan still adjusting to Datuk title

12 Feb – Datuk Jackie Chan has had the title in his name for less than two weeks, so it is no surprise then that the international star finds himself still getting used to the title.

During the press conference in Kuala Lumpur yesterday for his upcoming movie "Dragon Blade", the martial arts actor said, "When I flew in here this morning, the immigration officers kept saying "Datuk, datuk", then I realised they were addressing me."

The new Datuk also admitted he would need a few months to get used to being addressed as one. He jokingly added that after he has had his fill of being called Datuk, he would then revert back to his 'Taiko' (big brother) title, as it sounds friendlier and less formal.

The action star will be seen in a new movie this Chinese New Year, starring in "Dragon Blade" as Silk Road Protection Squad Commander, Huo An, who strives to maintain the peace along the Silk Road.

Starring alongside him in the movie are Hollywood actors John Cusack and Adrien Brody, as well as Korean idol Choi Si-won.

The movie is expected to be as big a hit as his 2012's "CZ12", which was GSC Movie's highest grossing title with a domestic collection of RM20 million.

"Dragon Blade" opens in cinemas this 19 February.
