6 Feb – "John Wick" fans are in for a real treat, as the directors of the surprise hit action film have recently confirmed that there is a sequel in the works. "We're in development right now," Chad Stahelski said to Movies.com, though he and David Leitch did not reveal further details on the upcoming sequel. Neither did the duo reveal whether Keanu Reeves will be reprising his titular role, but they did hint at the possibility of the action star returning. Not a surprise as fans and critics alike were happy with Reeves' performance in the film as a retired hitman who goes on a revenge mission to avenge his murdered puppy, a gift from his late wife.
Stahelski and Leitch have definitely found success after their directorial debut as a unit in 2014, as the stuntmen-turned-directors are now also in early talks to direct Chris Pratt-starrer "Cowboy Ninja Viking". Last year's "John Wick" opened at number two in North American cinemas on 24 October. It went on to gross USD577,682 in Malaysia and USD546,276 in Singapore, while worldwide it made USD78.7 million. The "John Wick" sequel has yet to receive an official title and a release date.
