"Lelaki Harapan Dunia" wins French award

"Lelaki Harapan Dunia" nabs award in France.

11 Nov – "Lelaki Harapan Dunia" (or "Man who Save the World"), directed by Liew Seng Tat, has been awarded with the Pro-Fil Jury Prize at the Ciné-Festival en Pays de Fayence in France.

The news was recently announced on the movie's official Facebook page, along with a statement from the juries that read "Though the subject is serious, the film is full of humour and very well built with wonderful unexpected pictures."

This is the latest in the movie's succession of award wins. Just last weekend, "Lelaki Harapan Dunia" took home three major awards at Anugerah Skrin 2015, which was held on 8 November.

The three awards were Best Film, Best Screenplay and Best Director.

Due to its success, as well as its engaging story, the comedy drama has also been picked to represent Malaysia in the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

It is reported that public relations expert Sabrina A. Taylor, who previously coordinated the campaign for Academy Award-winning "Birdman", is helming the promotions for "Lelaki Harapan Dunia", in hopes of winning over the Oscars judges.
