23 Mar – The second instalment in the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" reboot series will reportedly start filming next month, helmed by "Earth to Echo" director David Green.

The production will take place in New York City and Buffalo, according to New York Daily News, and it is expected to bring an estimated USD70 million in spending.

Paramount revealed that USD63 million of the money will be used in New York City. Mayor de Blasio is more than happy to welcome the production, saying that the city is looking forward to the "tens of millions of jobs this will bring to our local economy."

Megan Fox won a Razzies award for her role as April.

The first instalment, last year's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle", tells the story of four teenage anthropomorphic turtles - Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo – who emerge from the shadows to protect New York City against a kingpin.

The movie received generally negative reviews upon release. It even received five nominations at the 35th Golden Raspberry Awards, with Megan Fox winning Worst Supporting Actress for her role as news reporter April O'Neil.

Despite the bad reviews from critics, the movie still did well at the box office, grossing USD485 million worldwide. In Malaysia, it made USD5.2 million whereas in Singapore, it collected USD3.2 million.

There are currently no details on the cast and storyline, but it is confirmed that the sequel is slated for release in June 2016.
