8 Oct – It's the norm to have local movies and dramas that are adapted from novels, but the table is turned when it comes to Osman Ali's upcoming movie, "Langit Cinta".
The movie, which is expected to be released early next year, is set to be adapted into a novel by Alaf21 Sdn Bhd author Damya Hanna.
"I have previously worked with the author (Damya) and I am confident that she will be able to produce the best "Langit Cinta" novel," said the director, as quoted by Sinar Harian.
The "Ombak Rindu" director said that he is a fan of Damya's works, hence the reason for choosing her to pen the novel.
He also revealed that the novel will be released either at the end of October or early November, prior to the release of "Langit Cinta" in cinemas.
"Langit Cinta" stars Keith Foo, Fazura, Fauziah Ahmad Daud, Datuk Jalaludin Hassan, Farid Kamil and Siti Saleha.
Produced by Astro Shaw and Alaf21, it tells the story of Alif Zulkarnain (Keith Foo) who comes from a rich family but finds that wealth is not everything after he falls in love with a girl from the countryside called Khadijah (Fazura).
