24 Mar – Film director and actress Rosnani Jamil have decided to hand over her late husband's personal collection of items of the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee to the National Archives. According to Free Malaysia Today, the collection includes several magazine articles, scripts and photographs of the legendary multi-talented artiste. She disclosed her decision about the collection while she was attending P. Ramlee's 86th birthday at the P. Ramlee Memorial in Setapak. Rosnani said that she was surprised when she found her late husband's collection which was kept since 1952. The National Archives Department collaborated along with the P. Ramlee Fans Association (Perwalee) and organised the event to remind the public on the legend's deeds and contributions for the country's film industry. Free Malaysia Today reported that the late Jamil was initially a contemporary of P. Ramlee ever since the 1950's. He was also known as a lyricist, an actor and a film director who produced several films under Malay Film Productions Ltd. P. Ramlee passed away in 1973 and is known as the icon of Malay entertainment in several countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia. P.
