Soffi Jikan shooting another gangster film

Soffi Jikan is the main actor as well as director of "Gangsterock: Kasi Sengat".

10 Jul – The first feature length film of Malaysian actor-turned-director Soffi Jikan, "Gangsterock: Kasi Sengat" is done and ready to hit the big screen, but the debutant director is not going to just stop there as he is already working on his second feature film!

At the gala premiere of "Gangsterock: Kasi Sengat" the 44-year-old director revealed to Cinema Online that he's not taking a break and is concentrating on another film.

According to the actor, he doesn't want the audience's feedback of "Gangsterock: Kasi Sengat" to influence him in a good or bad way, so before waiting for anything, he decided to proceed with his next project.

Soffi Jikan also said that the movie is an action comedy inspired from his famous telemovie "Taubat Seorang Samseng" as it is also about a former gangster who wishes to quit his old ways.

The title of the movie is yet to be revealed as Soffi who is the director, has yet to decide on it despite the movie that's already in production.

However he revealed that Khir Rahman, Sobri Anuar and Along Eyzendy would be starring in the movie.

In other related news, when a reporter asked Soffi regarding the production quality of "Gangsterock: Kasi Sengat" which he described as "not so great", the actor responded:-

"You must understand, we have not reached the international Hollywood-like level, so it is sort of a technical problem. But I believe it is still bearable. So the question is hard to answer because if I really have to make everything perfect, then the cost would be expensive too. So, even though the movie is done only around 60 to 70 per cent, we would still proceed with it, because different productions will prioritise different aspects and sacrifice other aspects. That's just how life works, it is not as beautiful as we wish it to be."
