22 Apr – Adam McKay's "The Big Short" is definitely not short on big names. Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale and Steve Carell are confirmed to be headlining the movie.

Filming for the movie has begun, according to Collider, though no release date has been set so far. Melissa Leo and Marisa Tomei are also reported to have boarded the project.

The movie is an adaptation of Michael Lewis' book "The Big Short: Inside The Doomsday Machine". The official synopsis reads: "The Big Short" is the remarkable true story of the genius contrarian investors who, recognising just how insane the housing bubble had become, figured out how to "short" the market prior to the financial collapse of 2008.

Pitt is currently filming "By the Sea" with wife Angelina Jolie while Gosling will be starring next in "Blade Runner".

Bale was last seen as Moses in 2014's "Exodus: Gods and Kings" and Carell starred in last year's "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day".
