Win a filmmaking scholarship up to RM100k

24 Jul – A brand new reality show that features a filmmaking concept is set to start filming this September. Called "I Want to Be A Film Maker", the show is currently accepting applications up until next month.

It is open for aspiring filmmakers aged 17 to 22 years old. Those with SPM, SPTM or Diploma certificates are eligible to enter provided they are disciplined and have basic filmmaking knowledge.

Once the application closes, an audition will be held sometime during the third week of August to choose the contestants who will go on to participate in the reality show.

"Filming for the show will start from 1 September until the end of the month, though it is not yet confirmed when it will be aired on Hypp TV," said Veronica, a representative of Metrowealth (MIG). "MIG CEO David Teo will be one of the permanent judges for the show.

A total of 10 episodes will be filmed, with a duration of an hour per show, where in each episode the contestants will be given a task related to filmmaking – covering the pre-production to post-production process of making a film.

The winner of "I Want to Be A Film Maker" will walk away with a scholarship from Yayasan Telekom amounting up to RM100,000 to study in the cinematic arts programme, for the October intake, at Multimedia University (MMU) Nusajaya.
