10 Mar – Funnymen Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler are reported to have signed on for a Noah Baumbach film that has already started production, according to Cinema Blend. Nowadays it is almost impossible for a film to get made without having an announcement beforehand, but Noah Baumbach is one of those few people who was able pull it off, until today. The Film Stage reported that there was a filming notice on the streets of New York for a movie called "Yen Din Ka Kissa", the title is in Hindi for "The Story of the Day". Plot details are still under the wraps, but the Baumbach film is about "an estranged New York family who comes together in preparation of artist and patriarch Harold's career retrospective," as stated by that very notice.
Besides Stiller and Sandler, the film also features Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman who are presumed to be the parents to the two jokers. Thompson revealed to USA Today that her character in the film is "a dreadful, passive-aggressive alcoholic" while Hoffman's character is expected to be her husband, Mr Harold. This will be Stiller's third time working with Baumbach after "Greenberg" and "While We're Young" meanwhile Sandler will be pairing with the 46-year-old filmmaker for the first time. As this project comes as a surprise to most of us, release dates for the film have yet to be announced but do expect more casting news to pop up soon. "Yen Din Ka Kissa" will star Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson, and Grace Van Patten from "Boardwalk Empire".
