26 Jan – The 1982 American neo-noir science fiction film, "Blade Runner" by Ridley Scott has confirmed its cast, a new director and principle photography date! The press release stated that Ryan Gosling ("The Big Short") will star alongside Harrison Ford ("Star Wars: The Force Awakens") where the latter will reprise his role as Rick Deckard. "Sicario" director Denis Villeneuve will take over using the script written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green. Ridley Scott will also be involved as the executive producer for the film but will not direct. Warner Bros. has agreed to distribute the film around North America while Sony Pictures International has acquired the right to distribute the film worldwide. The story will follow up from the first film but will be set a few decades later. The first "Blade Runner" movie took place in 2019 in a dystopian Los Angeles as Deckard went after four "replicants" who had come to Earth illegally. The sci-fi is set to begin principal photography this July with no details on a release date, but this will surely be one of the most anticipated films for 2017.
