21 Mar – Success after success! Local animated feature "BoBoiBoy The Movie" continues to receive positive reception from local audiences as it manages to rake in RM13 million after 17 days of showing. This means the movie has achieved the local collection target previously set by director Nizam Razak, and not only that, it has also managed to beat animated movies from other countries. "I did not expect "BoBoiBoy The Movie" will also beat other countries' animated movies such as "Zootopia" and "Kung Fu Panda 3", which are now showing in cinemas," said the director to Harian Metro. Nizam added that he was thankful and proud when the animated movie receives positive feedback from audiences. Previously, the Animonsta Studios-produced movie broke record on the first day of release itself. Upon its release on 3 March, it earned RM500,000, making it the highest opening on the first day for a Malaysian movie. The number has since grown to RM8 million, RM11 million and now RM13 million. It is expected that the number will keep growing since the movie is still showing in cinemas. "BoBoiBoy The Movie" will also be shown in Indonesia, set for release this 13 April.
