"Star Wars" icon Carrie Fisher suffers heart attack


The actress played the famous "Star Wars" character, Princess Leia.

24 Dec – "Star Wars" actress Carrie Fisher is said to have suffered a heart attack while on board an international flight on Friday.

According to TMZ, the actress suffered the attack while on board on a united flight from London to LAX.

"People on board were administering CPR. United Airlines says its crew reported Carrie as "unresponsive" when they landed," according to sources.

The emergency happened 15 minutes before the plane was supposed to land when the flight attendant asked if any passengers on board are medically trained to perform administered life-saving measures.

According to witnesses on scene, the actress had her eyes closed and appeared unconscious as EMTs rushed her through the terminal. She had an oxygen mask on her face.

Soon after the plane landed, paramedics rushed her to the hospital and now she is believed to be stable.

Fisher who became famous after her pivotal role in the "Star Wars" saga as Princess Leia recently featured in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

Fisher had recently finished filming on the eighth film, which is due to be released next year.
