8 Apr – The "Fast and Furious" franchise says welcome to versatile actress Charlize Theron, who will be playing a villain in the eight instalment of the movie series. "Our crew will face its greatest adversary ever in our next film as we welcome Charlize Theron to the Fast family. 4.14.17. #F8" says a post on the franchise's official Facebook. While it is known that the 40-year-old South African-American will play a baddie, there are no further details revealed regarding the role. Theron will be joining returning stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and "Furious 7" villain, Jason Statham. This will be the first movie in the franchise to not feature the late Paul Walker, who had been the franchise's lead alongside Diesel since the beginning. "Fast and Furious 8", the first movie in the final trilogy of the series, is slated for release on 14 April 2017. While fans await more details on Theron's "Furious" role, they can still catch her playing yet another big screen villain, namely The Evil Queen Ravenna, in "The Huntsman: Winter's War", opening in cinemas next week.
