5 Dec – Malaysian-born-director James Wan's, "Aquaman" film finally lands a release date with Warner Bros. Entertainment confirming that it will be released on October 2018. This was according to Empire Online, which reported that Warner Bros had officially confirmed that the movie's release date will be on 5 October 2018. The superhero flick will be the fifth standalone DC Superhero film followed by "Wonder Woman", "Superman", "Batman" and the yet to be released "The Flash" movie. Jason Momoa who is also known for his defining role as Khal Drogo in "Game of Thrones" was briefly introduced as "Aquaman" in director Zack Snyder's "Batman Vs Superman". Although a more proper introduction for the character would arrive in next year's "Justice League" film, the standalone movie, as reported by Empire online, will look to further explore the story of "Aquaman" and his life in the hidden city, Atlantis. Jason Momoa will also be joined by Amber Heard as 'Mera', The Queen of Atlantis and wife of Aquaman with acclaimed actor Willem Dafoe playing the villain named 'Nuidis Vulko'. Aquaman is a fictional DC character who possesses incredible strength and speed as well as the ability to command all sea-life. His unique physiology allows him to survive on land and at the ocean's greatest depths of pressure and temperature.
