"Deadpool 2" director says bye to project

Deadpool: Gasp! Now who's going to direct my sequel?

24 Oct - This year's "Deadpool" was a big surprise. Who could have thought an untested rookie director like Tim Miller would be able to come up with such a wildly entertaining comic-book movie unlike any other?

After all, it's not every day you get to see an 18-rated comic-book movie in the mainstream cinema. Sure, Ryan Reynolds deserved most of the credits for playing the eponymous character so well. But really, credits should be given to Miller as well.

Following the surprise hit of "Deadpool" at the box-office worldwide, a sequel is already planned with Reynolds and Miller slated to return for the second round.

Unfortunately, that isn't the case after Deadline recently reported Tim Miller has chosen to step down from the sequel over "creative differences".

So, what happened?

In an updated report taken from TheWrap, Miller's shocking departure is mainly due to the casting disagreements between him and Reynolds over the choice of actor to play Cable in "Deadpool 2".

Miller had wanted TV veteran Kyle Chandler ("Early Edition", "Friday Night Lights" and "Bloodline") to play Cable.

No doubt the news of Miller's exit for "Deadpool 2" proves to be a big blow for both fans and the studio (20th Century Fox). Still, the show must go on and the search for the right replacement is inevitable. The question is, who will be replacing Tim Miller for "Deadpool 2"?

Whoever it is will need to be on board soon as "Deadpool 2" is scheduled for release in North American cinemas on 12 January 2018.
