26 Jan – South Indian star Dhanush will be appearing in a Hollywood film for the very first time. "I am very excited by this opportunity to work in a full length Hollywood film," said "3" actor in a statement in Chennai. The Tamil-Hindi actor stars alongside "Kill Bill" lead Uma Thurman and "San Andreas" star Alexandria Daddario in Marjane Satrapi's "The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an IKEA Wardrobe" according to HindustanTimes. That is the actual title and it is based on a French best-seller book by the same name, written by Romain Puértolas. The Iranian-French director told Times of India, "As I was watching various Indian movies, Dhanush became the most obvious choice - his intelligence, his killer smile, his ability to enter fully into the skin of any character he played (and I can go on and on forever) made me confident that he was the one." The award winning actor adds by thanking his fans for pushing him to explore new endeavours and challenges all the time. The novel came out in 2014 and it tells the pilgrimage of a con man from India to an IKEA in Paris which turns into a philosophical odyssey. In the movie, the story follows an Indian man from New Delhi who falls for a woman when he reaches Paris but accidentally gets deported with a group of African refugees against his choice. "It's a story about love, magic and adventure and it takes place across three continents. I'm drawn to fantasy stories and I love creating worlds that don't exist, imagining things in bigger and more beautiful ways," said Satrapi. The 32-year-old actor who won his first National Award in 2010 for his role in "Aadukalam" and bagged his second as producer for "Kaaka Muttai" in 2014 joins other Indian stars such as Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan and Anil Kapoor to break into the Hollywood scene.
