18 Jun – It's "Les Misérables" meets "High School Musical" for the upcoming P.T. Barnum biopic starring Hugh Jackman, as it was reported that Zac Efron is currently in talks to join the project. Efron is in negotiations with 20th Century Fox, according to Variety, to star alongside Jackman in "The Greatest Showman on Earth". The upcoming contemporary musical has been in development since 2009, with Jackman attached to play P.T. Barnum, the showman most well-known for the three-ring Barnum & Bailey Circus that was created by Barnum himself. The biopic will focus on the showman, who, near the end of his career, began calling his tours with Tom Thumb and the singer Jenny Lind as the "Greatest Show on Earth". Apart from starring in the musical film, Jackman is also busy filming for his final, R-rated "Wolverine" movie. Meanwhile, Efron can be seen next in this year's "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates" and "The Masterpiece" as well as 2017's "Baywatch". (Photo source: Pics of Celebrities | Q104)
