22 Aug – The self-proclaimed #BigBrownBaldTattooedMan (or so his Instagram hashtag says), Dwayne Johnson a.k.a. The Rock, has posted an update online regarding the status of his next movie, "Jumanji". Previously thought to be a remake or a reboot, the actor has this to say to that, "for the record we are NOT making a reboot, but rather a continuation of the awesome "Jumanji" story." Johnson's Instagram post stated that in two weeks, he will be reuniting with "Central Intelligence" co-star Kevin Hart and "Goosebumps" actor Jack Black to begin filming the continuation to the 1995 Robin Williams-starrer. The trio, affectionately dubbed by the actor himself as the "Jumanji Breakfast Club", may also be joined by Nick Jonas, who was last heard still in talks for a role in the movie. "Jumanji", to be directed by Jake Kasdan, is rolling onto the big screen on 27 July 2017. Johnson has just wrapped up filming for "Fast and Furious 8", which is also slated for release next year, and is already busy promoting his new HBO series, "Ballers". The actor can be heard lending his voice to the character Maui in Disney's "Moana" later this year, and be seen running on the big screen in slow motion in 2017's "Baywatch".
