27 Oct – Moviegoers planning to watch movies at GSC Mid Valley yesterday evening was in for a dark surprise when a power outage caused a disruption to the cinema's usual screenings. GSC has issued a statement on its official Facebook page following the incident, announcing that customers who were affected by the power outage for showings from 5.40pm to 8.15pm on 26 October 2016 will be given refunds. During the 7-day refund exercise, customers will have to show proof of purchase such as the GSC Box Office ticket, e-payment confirmation ID and SelfPrint tickets or Mobile App confirmation number at GSC Mid Valley Megamall to receive the refund. Other locations affected by the blackout include Bangsar Shopping Centre and nearby housing areas. Many have taken to social media to voice their disappointment via the hashtag #BangsarBlackout. TNB (Tenaga Nasional Berhad) Careline, meanwhile, posted on its Facebook a statement to announce that the power outage hit parts of Bangsar and Damansara. TNB has also apologised for the inconvenience caused and is gradually fixing the issue. The cause of the outage is yet to be determined.
