Two more "Fantastic Beasts" movies confirmed

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is the first movie in the spinoff series.

14 Oct - J.K. Rowling's much-anticipated "Harry Potter" spinoff will begin life with "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", coming this November.

It was supposed to be the first instalment of the originally-planned trilogy. The other two "Fantastic Beasts" follow-ups' releases are already set in stone for November 2018 and November 2020.

However, franchise creator J.K. Rowling herself has revealed that the "Fantastic Beasts" trilogy is now turning into a pentalogy, as it will be expanded to five movies, according to ABC Online.

"I can confirm it will be five new movies," said the author while speaking to fans at a live event. "We said a trilogy as a placeholder because we knew there would be more than one movie."

"Now I think we can say, I've done the plotting properly so we're pretty sure it's going to be five movies," she added.

As of now, no release dates have been set for the additional two "Fantastic Beasts" movies.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterson and Colin Farrell, arrives in Malaysian and Singaporean cinemas on 17 November and Cambodian cinemas on 18 November.
