15 Feb – Angelina Jolie's long-awaited movie, "First They Killed My Father", is making its premiere in Siem Reap, Cambodia, this weekend. It is set to be a grand event as Cambodia's King and the Queen Mother will also be attendance. King Norodom Sihamoni, along with Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk and senior government officials, will be gracing the premiere, according to the Associated Press, which will be held at the Angkor Wat temple complex. King Sihamoni is no stranger to the film industry as the King's late father, Norodom Sihanouk, was also previously involved in movies, which include producing, writing, directing and acting. Jolie, who directed the movie for Netflix based on Khmer Rouge survivor Loung Ong's memoir of the same name, is expected to attend the premiere. It is not yet known whether Maddox, her 15-year-old son whom she adopted from Cambodia and had been helping during the movie's production, will be present for the premiere. "First They Killed My Father" will recount the horrors the locals suffered under the rule of the Khmer Rouge. The movie was shot in Cambodia and employed around 500 Cambodians during filming. Part of the cast is MMA fighter and actress Tharoth Sam, who is most recently seen in Cambodian action movie, "Jailbreak".
