2 Nov – "Jailbreak", the action-packed, adrenaline-charged movie we've all been waiting for, has finally opened in cinemas today. Prior to its nationwide release today, the gala premiere for the action movie was held yesterday evening at Premium-X Cinemas, One City Mall. When asked, the guests stated that they were definitely looking forward to the action scenes. The movie is definitely not short on those as even the trailer alone already proved that it would pack a punch!
"Jailbreak" is a unique Malaysian-Cambodian co-production. Produced under Cambodia's Kongchak Pictures, the sound mixing and colour grading were done in Malaysia by ImagineX Studios and Basecamp Films. Helmed by Italian director Jimmy Henderson, the movie highlights the ancient martial art Bokator. The stunts in the movie are performed by the National Bokator team, choreographed by actor and Bokator expert Dara Our as well as Hollywood stuntman-turned-actor Jean-Paul Ly, who's had experiences handling stunts for movies like "Marvel's Doctor Strange" and "Now You See Me".
"Jailbreak" follows a team of police escorting a criminal, Playboy (Savin Phillip), to a high security prison, where a riot led by inmate Bolo (Prince Sisowath Siriwudd) breaks out when the leader (Celine Tran) of the Butterfly gang puts a hit on him. Inspector Ly (Jean-Paul Ly), Dara (Dara Our) and Tharoth (MMA champion Tharoth Sam), along with the rest of the team, must now fight their way out of the prison. Catch "Jailbreak" in cinemas nationwide from today onwards.
