31 Oct – It's been a long time coming, the action-packed Cambodian film "Jailbreak" is finally on its way to meet its Malaysian audiences this 2 November. Produced by Kongchak Pictures, the movie is the collaborative effort between Malaysia and Cambodia through ImagineX Sdn Bhd and Basecamp Films. Through the collaboration, Kongchak Pictures produced the movie, while ImagineX Studios provided the post-production touches in terms of audio, special effects and many more. Directed by Italian helmer Jimmy Henderson ("Hanuman"), "Jailbreak" features a stunning cast of French-Cambodian actor Jean Paul-Ly ("Marvel's Doctor Strange", "Lucy", "Now You See Me 2"), Bokator athlete Dara Our, MMA athlete Tharoth Sam (who also acted in Angelia Jolie's "First They Killed My Father"), Celine Tran, Savin Philip and Cambodian Prince Sisowath Siriwudd.
A press screening for the movie was held on Tuesday morning, where it was met with admiration for its action sequences. "Despite it being a light story, the movie is still very entertaining. I am impressed with the clean action scenes that are not hectic at all," The Star entertainment reporter Angeline commented. "Jailbreak" will soon begin its screening in selected cinemas throughout Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Perak, Johor Bahru, Terengganu and Sarawak.
