Local cinemas hold blood drives

Give back to the community by donating your blood at a cinema near you.

4 Aug – This August, visiting a cinema near you doesn't mean you only get to watch movies, you can also do an act of charity by donating your blood!

Local cinemas are set to hold several blood donation drives this month at selected locations across the country.

MBO Cinemas, one of the participating cinema chains, will conduct its MBO Blood Donation Drive 4.0 this weekend at 25 locations nationwide, held from 12pm to 6pm for two days at each location.

From 4 to 5 August, moviegoers in Kedah and Johor can donate their blood from 12pm to 6pm at the following locations:

This year, using the theme "Superhero" for its campaign, the local exhibitor collaborates once again with the National Blood Bank (PDN) to replenish the blood supply at PDN.

Since its blood donation campaign has collected close to 10,000 pints of blood in the past three years, MBO is hoping to continue the success this year.

Another local cinema chain, Golden Screen Cinema (GSC), is also collaborating with PDN to hold a blood drive, open to its Klang Valley and HQ staff, as well as its partners.

The blood drive will be held at GSC headquarters in Damansara Jaya from 10am to 3pm on 16 August 2017.
