19 Apr – How often do you go to the cinema and get to meet the main actor you've just watched on the big screen? Well, here's your chance! French actor Gustave Kervern, who is also a director, producer and screenwriter, will be in town for the screening of "The Fabulous Patars" at the upcoming Le French Festival 2017. Simply purchase a ticket for the screening to be eligible to attend the Meet & Greet with Kervern, taking place at GSC Pavilion KL at 9pm on 5 May. This will be French film aficionados' golden chance to get up close and personal with the award-winning filmmaker, who's received accolades and nominations from the Sundance Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, Cesar Awards, Cannes Film Festival, Venice Film Festival and more. Kervern's appearance is in conjunction with the aforementioned Le French Festival, which returns for its 16th edition this year. Previously known as the French Art & Film Festival, the annual event started going by Le French Festival in 2016. Mr. Jean-Pierre Dumont, Director of Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur, revealed at the press conference at GSC Mid Valley yesterday that a total of 17 films will be screened at this year's festival.
Not only that, this year also marks the first time the festival will be presented in 3 cities: Klang Valley, Penang, and Kota Kinabalu. The festival will run from 4 to 21 May 2017 in Klang Valley at GSC Pavilion KL, GSC Mid Valley Megamall, and GSC 1 Utama Shopping Centre. It will then be held from 25 May to 4 June at GSC Gurney Plaza, Penang. Lastly, it will make its debut at GSC Suria Sabah in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah from 8 to 11 June.
