9 Aug – After casting "Stranger Things" standout David Harbour to play the famous red-skinned creature Hellboy, and Ian McShane as Professor Broom, the movie franchise's reboot has finally found its Blood Queen, in the form of "Resident Evil" star Milla Jovovich. According to Deadline, Jovovich is currently "in final talks" to play as Blood Queen, the titular villain of the upcoming "Hellboy" reboot, tentatively titled "Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen". Jovovich who is known for her roles in films such as "Resident Evil", "The Fifth Element" and "Ultraviolet", will be joining the movie production, set to be directed by Neil Marshall (helmer of "The Descent" and "Game of Thrones").
In the comics, the Blood Queen is an Arthurian witch also known as the Lady of the Lake and Nimue. The sorcery-skilled character was resurrected to bring Hellboy to his arch enemy Gruagach. Hellboy then awakens an army of dead knights to battle her. The movie which promises to be R-rated, is anticipated to debut in cinemas sometime in 2018.
