Could Tessa Thompson be looking to bring Lady Liberators onto the big screen?

16 Oct – Will we finally be seeing an all-female Marvel superhero movie?

During a press conference for the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok", star Tessa Thompson reveals her wish for an all-female superhero team-up film, as reported by Collider.

"Recently, I marched up with a couple of other women that work in Marvel and we went to Kevin, 'What about a movie with some female superheroes? Like all of them?'" Thompson spilled about her encounter with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

"It was a pretty amazing moment to be somewhere and have your shoulder get tapped and turn around find every female hero we have is standing there going, 'How about it?' and I said 'yes'", Feige himself added.

However, don't be too quick to jump in delight, for this can be just another one of Feige's ambitious projects that might not see its big screen's light, as seen with his repeated claims of making a solo Black Widow movie.

Not willing to let her cinematic dream slide off easily, the "Creed" actress also boasted her Marvel knowledge, referencing Lady Liberators as precedent for the project.

Lady Liberators as seen in the "Hulk" comic series.

Making their first appearance in "The Avengers" comic in December 1970, Lady Liberators is Marvel's take of a female Avenger that was led by Valkyrie, with Wasp, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch and Medusa rounding up the team.

The group was later reintroduced in the 2008 "Hulk" comic series when She-Hulk formed a new Lady Liberators with Invisible Woman, Storm, Valkyrie, Thundra, Spider-Woman, Tigra, Black Widow and Hellcat.

While this ambitious project might need some time to materialise, fans would only have to wait a little while to see Thompson as Valkyrie in "Thor: Ragnarok", opening in cinemas this 26 October in Malaysia and Singapore, and 2 November in Cambodia.
