14 Aug – Tom Cruise may have injured himself during a building-jumping stunt on the set of the upcoming "Mission: Impossible 6". Video footage posted on TMZ sees the franchise's Ethan Hunt attempts to take a gigantic leap off some rigging and onto the opposite rooftop, but falls short as he then crashes onto the side of the building. Cruise is then seen limping away while holding onto his knee and wincing in pain to the nearby crew members who then escort him away. As the 55-year-old actor was attached to a harness, there was likely no real risk of a fall during the stunt.
No stranger to action movies, the actor, who is known for doing his own stunts, was previously revealed by Skydance Media CEO David Ellison to be performing the biggest stunt sequence of his career in the film. "It is going to be, I believe the most impressive and unbelievable thing that Tom Cruise has done in a movie, and he has been working on it since right after "Rogue Nation" came out. "It's gonna be mind-blowing," he teased in an interview with Collider. The sixth movie in the "Mission: Impossible" franchise will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie and also stars Henry Cavill, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, and Michelle Monaghan alongside Cruise. The film, which is based on the same-titled television series, is set to be released in 2018. (Photo source: ET Canada)
