18 Jan – South Korea's prominent entertainment and media corporation, CJ E&M, has officially launched a new Korean movie channel, tvN Movies.

Touted as the first and only Korean blockbuster movie channel in the world, tvN Movies recently made its debut in Singapore.

As announced on its official Facebook page, the channel is now available on Singapore's StarHub TV and can also be streamed on StarHub Go. Currently, a two-week long free preview is available for StarHub TV customers from 11am to 12pm until this 31 January.

Aiming to provide more than 200 titles as well as show approximately 20 newly-released blockbusters each year, tvN Movies also has plans to expand into other Southeast Asian territories.

Expansion into other regions will not be a tough feat as the tvN branding already has a foothold in several ASEAN countries including Malaysia and Cambodia, where CJ E&M has been operating tvN Asia since 2015.

Originally named Channel M, the Korean overseas entertainment channel has been rebranded to tvN Asia since June 2016.

tvN Movies may be available in countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Cambodia by the end of 2017.
