Wife of Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee dies at 93


Joan and Stan Lee had been together for 69 years.

7 Jul – Joan Lee, the wife Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee, died on Thursday, 6 July 2017 in Los Angeles. She was 93.

"I can confirm the sad news that Joan Lee passed away this morning quietly and surrounded by her family," a spokesperson for Stan Lee and his family said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

"The family ask that you please give them time to grieve and respect their privacy during this difficult time."

According to sources, Joan Lee suffered a stroke earlier this week and was hospitalised.

Joan, who was a former British hat model, was married to Stan Lee on 5 December 1947. Both of them were married to each other for 69 years.

Together, the couple had two children, Joan Celia (J.C.) Lee and Jan Lee, who died three days after her birth in 1953.
