Donnie Yen's "Big Brother" to close Montreal festival

Donnie Yen plays a soldier-turned-school-teacher in "Big Brother".

7 Jul – Donnie Yen recently expressed delight that his upcoming movie, "Big Brother", has been selected as the closing film at the 22nd Fantasia International Film Festival (FIFF) in Montreal.

The actor shared on Facebook, "I have produced this movie through Superbullet Films, a production company which [my wife Cissy and I] had founded. We have set our mission to make high caliber action films but most importantly to make films that inspire!"

"Although I feel some writing are simply too ancient to caption it as a martial arts film, but I'm still excited to open the film in such wide international platform and eager to see everyone's reaction after the release," he added.

In the comments, the FIFF wrote, "And we are very excited to be hosting the world premiere, Donnie! We cannot wait for Fantasia audiences to have a great time at this terrific movie. Tickets go on sale [Saturday], July 7."

However, it is reported that Donnie is uncertain whether he will be able to make it to the screening in Montreal due to his hectic schedule.

"Big Brother" will be opening in Malaysian and Singaporean cinemas this 16 August.
