6 Sep – Alexandra Daddario hasn't appeared in a horror movie for quite some time but we'll be seeing her scream queen side again soon, now that she's been cast as the lead for the upcoming "We Summon the Darkness". The name of her character is not revealed but she is described as the leader of a group of three girls who invites a group of boys to a party at her parents' estate. Variety stated that the movie is set in the Midwest and it follows three best friends on a road trip to a heavy-metal show. After bonding with three aspiring musicians there, they head of to an after-party at one of the girls' country home. Bodies begin to pile up as the night progresses and each side thinks the other is hiding the killer. Written by Alan Trezza, the movie will be helmed by "My Friend Dahmer" director Marc Meyers. Starring opposite Daddario is "Nashville" actor Keean Johnson and they will be joined by Maddie Hasson, Logan Miller, Amy Forsyth and Austin Swift. "We Summon the Darkness" is set to begin filming in Winnipeg, Manitoba, this week. Daddario last starred in a horror movie in 2013, playing the lead character Heather Miller in "Texas Chainsaw 3D". Her movies in recent years include "San Andreas" and "Baywatch". This year she also stars in Netflix's "When We First Met" and mystery thriller "We Have Always Lived in the Castle". The 32-year-old will also be seen next starring opposite Henry Cavill in "Nomis" and playing the lead in the Swedish-Japanese-American dramatic thriller, "I Am Not A Bird".
