18 Jan – Following the nationwide hubbub raised by news of actor and director Datuk Farid Kamil's arrest, there are now some who question the appropriateness of an individual bearing datukship behaving in such manner. The Regent of Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah has since released a statement expressing his regrets over the actor's conduct that led to court charges. Tengku Abdullah stated that he would like it if Farid Kamil willingly returns the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) that was awarded to him on 16 December last year. "All individuals who receive the title Datuk, they should already be aware that it comes with ethical codes and conditions. "If it were up to me, I want the revoke all the awards. I am disappointed if there are individuals bearing Datukship acting in such a way. If he wants to return it, up to him. If he is aware and wants to return it, that's even better," said Tengku Abdullah, according to Kosmo!. Previously, the "J Revolusi" actor was remanded after slapping a police offer and kicking two civilians in an incident at Balai Polis Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya on 11 January. Furthermore the actor – husband of actress Diana Danielle – also tested positive for marijuana. The 37-year-old actor had recently pleaded not guilty to four charges and was released on bail, set at RM12,000. Magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham later set 5 March 2018 for remention.
