Chin Ka-lok says "Golden Job" sequel will need ghosts

press conference in Putrajaya yesterday.

2 Oct – Recognising that Malaysians just can't get enough of horror movies, ones with ghosts specifically, "Golden Job" director Chin Ka-lok joked to Malaysian media that if the movie were to get a sequel, it would have to include ghosts.

The Hong Kong director said so when asked if there would be a sequel to the movie, which he also stars in as one of the lead characters.

A quick glance at the current box office hits in Malaysia would clarify his witty reply, since movies like "Hantu Kak Limah", "Munafik 2" and "The Nun" are dominating the charts.

Fellow cast members Jerry Lamb, Ekin Cheng and Eric Tsang, who were also present at yesterday's press conference at Le Meridien Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, don't seem opposed to the idea, judging by their laughter after hearing the suggestion.

Jerry Lamb, Chin Ka-lok, and Ekin Cheng, along with Michael Tse and Jordan Chan, star as the
five con artists in "Golden Job".

Eric Tsang plays their mentor and also produces the movie.

The quartet was in Malaysia to promote their latest movie together, which also stars Jordan Chan and Michael Tse.

"Golden Job", released in Malaysian cinema on 27 September, opened at number 4 at the Malaysian weekend box office.

It did even better in Singapore, where it opened at number 2 following its release on 20 September.
