5 Jun – "Bond 25" is about to get a pretty eccentric villain, if rumours are to be believed. Helena Bonham Carter, known for her often quirky onscreen characters, are said to be the producers' top pick to play the next Bond villain, according to The Mirror. "Everyone thinks Angelina Jolie is going to get the part but bosses want Helena more," an insider was quoted as saying. Bonham Carter is no stranger to sinister roles. Some of her more memorable ones are playing Bellatrix Lestrange in the "Harry Potter" franchise and the Red Queen in 2010's "Alice in Wonderland" and its 2016 sequel. She can be seen soon in "Ocean's 8", portraying fashion designer Rose, a character who is not quite on the right side of the law as she is part of a criminal gang planning a big heist.
The 25th Bond movie, to be directed by Danny Boyle, will see the return of Daniel Craig as James Bond. If Jolie gets the role over Bonham Carter, it will be a reunion for Jolie and Craig, who both worked in 2001's "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider". Another actor expected to return for "Bond 25" is Ben Wishaw, who plays Q. Production on the movie is expected to begin this summer, slated for release in November 2019.
