3 Sep – Two years after its release, "Interchange" continues to impress, this time with a recent win at the 58th Asia-Pacific Film Festival (APPF 58). Nominated in two categories, the Dain Said-helmed movie nabbed the award for Best Visual Effects, besting its fellow nominees: Taipei's "The Tag-Along 2", Sydney's "Jungle", Tehran's "Villa Dwellers" and Beijing's "The Soul of Himalaya". "Mira Digital, Voxel Studio and Tre-14 Asia won Best Visual Effects for the movie "Interchange"! We're very grateful to have been involved in the film and hope to make Malaysia proud in the future!" stated a post on Mira Digital's Facebook following the win. "Interchange" was also nominated in the Best Sound Effects category while another Malaysian movie, "My Superheroes" (alternatively known as "Adiwira Ku"), was a nominee in the Best Story category. As stated on FINAS' Facebook, this is the 56th win for Malaysia at APFF 58. Other local movies that have previously won at the film festival include "Munafik" (Best Director, Syamsul Yusof) and "Ola Bola" (Best Editing, Gwyneth Lee). APFF 58 was held in Taipei, Taiwan, from 31 August to 1 September 2018.
