24 Oct – Martial arts actor Jet Li might have not been a part of Disney's live-action adaptation of "Mulan" if not for his daughters. As reported on Sina, the actor, who sat down for an interview with TV personality Chen Luyu recently, shared that he had wanted to say no to the offer regardless whether it's a good project or not. However, it was his 15-year-old daughter Jane who confronted him about his refusal, asking him if he was short of money. "She asked me, "Why won't you accept a movie from a company like Disney when they want to do a project about the Chinese culture?". Then she and her younger sister said together, "Can you shoot this movie for us?" It was the first time they made such a request, so I didn't hesitate to say yes," he said. To that, Luyu laughed and said that Disney should thank his daughters, to which he agreed. Jet announced his involvement in the project back in April, saying that he will be playing the emperor - a role that was previously voiced by Pat Morita in the original animation.
