Samsung Cinema LED screen is making its way to Malaysia for the first time.

11 Apr – Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) and Samsung Malaysia Electronics are introducing a brand new technology to further enhance your movie-going experience.

The two companies have partnered up to bring Cinema LED Screen, an LED display the size of a cinema screen which has both 4K resolution and high dynamic range (HDR) to create a more captivating and vibrant viewing experience, to Malaysia.

"The Samsung Cinema LED Screen expands our offerings, enabling us to deliver new and enriching cinema experiences to customers, but it is also part of our efforts to transform the Malaysian entertainment landscape," said GSC CEO Ms. Koh Mei Lee in a press statement, adding that this partnership is the next step for the future of cinema.

Measuring at 10.3 metres wide, the Cinema LED Screen brings the visual power of HDR quality to the big screen with 4K resolution visuals (4,096 x 2,160) and brightness levels of 146fL, enabling it to showcase the brightest colours, deepest blacks, and purest whites at a nearly infinite contrast ratio using its ultra-contrast and low tone grayscale settings.

To top it all off, the screen also comes with audio technology from JBL by Harman, which includes powerful speakers bordering the screen and also speakers installed throughout the seating area to give that audio boost.

"We are confident that with the Samsung Cinema LED Screen, our customers will get more out of their movie-going experiences with us, whether they are watching a Hollywood blockbuster, catching a foreign film, celebrating their favourite bands in concert, or cheering for their favourite e-Sports teams," Ms. Koh added.

Malaysia is the fourth country to have the screen after Korea, China, and Switzerland, and will be exclusively available at GSC Mid Valley Megamall.
