2 Feb – Cinemagoers in Ipoh can now enjoy two special halls, Kecil and Big Screen, at the new MBO Cinemas Falim Ipoh. "With the launch of MBO Kecil and Big Screen, we want moviegoers to have a different perspective when going to the cinemas, so we made all this possible under very accessible ticket pricing," said Cheah Chun Wai, Chief Operating Officer of MBO Cinemas. "Audiences will definitely be delighted with a cinematic experience of high-end technology, they may even forget they are sitting in a theatre." Both the special halls are introduced for the first time in the capital city of Perak. Opened to the public since mid-December last year, the 27th outlet of MBO Cinemas is located at AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Center. The cinema has eight halls in total, made up of six standard halls and the two aforementioned special halls, with a seating capacity of 1169.
MBO's Kecil hall is a designated hall for families with small children. Facilities in the hall include Sofa bed, perfect for a family movie day out; comfortable Bean Seat for children; in-hall built in playground, for children to play at during a movie session; diaper changing rooms that are easily accessible; and softer audio and brighter lights inside the hall for safety and ease of mind. MBO's Big Screen hall, as the name indicates, features the exhibitor's own premium large-format screen. It is perfect for moviegoers who like their movies on large screens. The hall is equipped with Barco, the flagship laser RGB projector that is also the first of its kind in Malaysia, and Dolby Atmos sound system.
