19 Jun – It's a tie for "Black Panther" and "Stranger Things" at the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards, which took place on 16 June at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, U.S. and was aired earlier today.
"Black Panther" and "Stranger Things" each won four awards in total out of the 15 categories.
As most fans have been rooting for, "Black Panther" won Best Movie, Best Villain for Michael B. Jordan, and Best Performance in a Movie and Best Hero for star Chadwick Boseman.
However, Boseman's noble act following his Best Hero win made everyone look up to the 'King of Wakanda' even more, as he handed his Golden Popcorn over to a real-life hero.
"Receiving an award for playing a superhero is amazing, but it's even greater to acknowledge the heroes that we have in real life," said Boseman in his speech, as quoted by The Independent, before handing the award over to James Shaw Jr., an electrician who saved lives by fighting off a gunman during a shooting back in April in Tennessee.

Host Tiffany Haddish, who is the first black woman to host the awards ceremony, also didn't go home empty handed as she nabbed the Best Comedic Performance accolade for her role in "Girls Trip".
She even took the chance to include this year's MTV Generation Award recipient in one of her jokes, "I'm glad this show covers both TV and Movies, because now I get to flirt with Chris Pratt from "Parks and Recreation" and Chris Pratt from "Guardians of the Galaxy". Hey, Chris. I got a galaxy you can guard."
It was a memorable night for young actor Finn Wolfhard too as two of his works in both movie and TV walked away winners. "It", which he stars in as Richie, won Best On-Screen Team, while "Stranger Things", in which he stars as Mike, won Best Show, among others.
Seeing that the awards ceremony celebrates the best of best in the movie and TV worlds, some of the nominations include talents from both movie and TV while others are specifically just for either movie nominees or TV nominees.
