5 Apr – Looks like Jigsaw lives on to set more deadly traps on his victims as a ninth "Saw" movie has been reported to be in the making. "Jigsaw" writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger are currently penning the script to the ninth instalment of the "Saw" franchise, according to Bloody Disgusting. It is still unknown whether this will be a direct follow-up to last year's "Jigsaw" or it will instead pick up after the events of the seventh movie, 2010's "Saw 3D" – or it might even be a completely new reboot.
The "Saw" franchise started in 2004 where it introduces its main antagonist, John Kramer, or also known as Jigsaw, who traps his victims in situations he calls "games" to test their will to live through physical or psychological torture. Despite how "Saw III" ended, the franchise managed to continue on for a total of eight movies, "Jigsaw" being the latest one where it functioned as a soft reboot.
