9 Mar – Vin Diesel will be taking on a new comic book role in a movie adaptation of Valiant Comic's "Bloodshot" by Sony Pictures. There have been talks about Diesel being up for the starring role since January but the "Fast and Furious" star has only now officially signed on for the project, as reported by Deadline. Diesel will be reuniting with his "Fast and Furious" producer, Neal H. Moritz, while Dave Wilson will be making his feature directorial debut with the movie. Eric Heisserer, nominated for an Oscar for his "Arrival" script, will be penning the screenplay. Known for his appearances in actions movie, it's no surprise that Diesel would be starring in another action packed film after his achievements with films such as "Fast and Furious", "xXx" and "Guardians of the Galaxy".
No news about the plot as of yet but the project will be presented in the classical tones of the '80s in line with movies like "Robocop", "Terminator" and "Total Recall". Principal photography is scheduled to begin this July. "Bloodshot" the comics follows the titular character, also known as Ray Garrison, who was brought back from the dead by Rising Spirit Technologies using nanotechnology. He suffers from memory loss but the nanomachines in his blood have turned him into a super soldier.
