7 Oct – Producers Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who were part of the team behind the recent live-action "Aladdin" remake, are now working on a new project for Disney. The duo will be producing a new live-action version of "Inspector Gadget" under their Rideback production banner (formerly Lin Pictures), according to The Hollywood Reporter. No star or director has been named at the moment, but the script is in the works from "Saturday Night Live" writers Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell, who are incidentally working on a "Home Alone" reboot for Disney+. "Inspector Gadget" started off as a 1980s animated TV series about a bionic police officer working for a secret police organisation who has a multitude of gadgets built into his body.
