23 Dec - Donnie Yen recently expressed his hope that the latest and final instalment of his most successful movie franchise, "Ip Man", will be received positively by the audience. As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who appeared at the promotional event of "Ip Man 4: The Finale" alongside director Wilson Yip and action director Yuen Woo-ping recently, stated that the said film was the most difficult project he has ever made – be it the action scenes or the dramatic ones. "I didn't want to disappoint the audience after ten years of support and love from them," he said.
Donnie, who shot to stardom through the said franchise more than 12 years ago, also said that he was thankful to Yuen in particular for bringing him into showbiz and enabling him to achieve the success that he has today. Meanwhile, director Wilson Yip stated that he was also anxious about the fourth film, even though the previous three had great box office results. "I decided to shoot the movie to my best of ability since it is the last one. What I wanted to say through this last movie is that as long as you have confidence, it will always be the same everywhere you go," he added. (Photo source: Mingpao)
