Mark Ruffalo's wish for a Hulk movie might not come true

29 Nov – Lately, there's been plenty talks of a possible standalone Hulk movie in the MCU starring Mark Ruffalo, who will be reprising the green superhero role he's been portraying for a nearly a decade.

The actor not only revealed on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" that he and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will be meeting up to discuss Hulk's next direction, he also told Men's Health magazine that he wants to see Hulk fight Wolverine next.

Sadly, not all fans are on board with the idea of a Ruffalo-starring Hulk movie.

It's all thanks to his portrayal of the character in "Avengers: Endgame", which many deemed to be too "goofy" and stray too far from its comic counterpart.

It's not just fans who are making noise, even Lou Ferrigno – the actor best known for donning green paint to star as the title character in CBS TV series "The Incredible Hulk" – has recently voiced his disappointment over how Hulk was portrayed in the last "Avengers" movie.

Taking this into account, unless Marvel and Ruffalo do another haul on Hulk's character arc, the actor's chance for his Hulk to return for another MCU movie might be slim.

Ruffalo has appeared in seven MCU titles so far, though two are for uncredited cameo roles in 2013's "Iron Man 3" and 2019's "Captain Marvel".

He first portrayed the character in 2012's "The Avengers", and later reprised it in 2015's "Avengers: Age of Ultron", 2017's "Thor: Ragnarok", 2018's "Avengers: Infinity War" and 2019's "Avengers: Endgame".

While fans might not want his Hulk on the big screen anytime soon, they are, however, rallying for Edward Norton to step back into the role.

Fans would remember Hulk's first appearance in the MCU was in 2008's "The Incredible Hulk". Norton portrayed the title character in the movie and was even set to reprise the role for "The Avengers", but Feige decided not to bring him back and cast Ruffalo instead.
