12 Mar – Returning for its 18th edition in Malaysia is Le French Festival (LFF), which will once again bring to Malaysia a host of interesting French films to catch in cinemas. H.E. Frederic Laplanche, Ambassador of France to Malaysia, promised that LFF 2019's French Film Festival – dubbed as its 'festival within a festival' – will bring "the best and the newest" French films to Malaysian audience. ""Edmond" was released this year in January," the ambassador said, referring to the movie that was to be screened after the press conference held earlier today. Another example the ambassador gave was the award-winning animated film "Funan", which was released just last week in France. Special guest Sharifah Amani, who was also present at the press conference, picked the latter too as a must-watch film for her. The two movies are among the 15 titles that will be screened at LFF 2019 starting from next month. Some of the other titles are comedy film "Looking for Teddy", thriller film "Just A Breath Away", WWI drama "The Red Collar" and zombie movie "The Night Eats the World".
LFF 2019 will take place at the following venues and dates: i) Klang Valley (GSC Pavilion KL, GSC Mid Valley Megamall, GSC 1 Utama Shopping Centre): 4 to 21 April 2019 ii) Penang (GSC Gurney Plaza): 25 April to 5 May 2019 iii) Johor Bahru (GSC Paradigm JB Mall): 2 to 5 May 2019 iv) Kota Kinabalu (GSC Suria Sabah Mall): 9 to 12 May 2019 Tickets for the French Film Festival go on sale from 28 March 2019 (Thursday) via GSC box offices, GSC app and online bookings. So aside from films, Malaysians will also be treated to theatre, music and dance performances, as well as a couple of pop art-focused and women empowerment-themed exhibitions, and lifestyle and gastronomy experiences throughout the festival.
